Swoon Worthy Nail Trends For Spring

I'm one of those. I'm one of those who get a manicure every Saturday. I love it. I love looking down and seeing that splash of color. I love these new trends!

"2012 is all about the color green," says Essie founder Essie Weingarten. "There’s something really special about it, so you’re going to see a lot of it."

"The glitter craze is continuing, but will be transforming into new variations — the latest versions are 3D holographics, but shiny shimmers still continue to rule," says celebrity manicurist Deborah Lippmann.

"This isn’t old-school, '80s neon," says Butter London creative director Nonie Creme. "It's a grown-up, modern interpretation"

I love the simplicity of this.

Hint of waiting for springtime.

1 cup sugar
1-2 tablespoons cinnamon (depending on how cinnamon-y you want it. I used the full 2 tablespoons)
Butter-flavored cooking spray

1 teaspoon almond extract
1 tablespoon raspberry preserves
Fresh raspberries, optional

Successful Saturday

It was a blur of red everywhere I went this Saturday.

I'm not the biggest fan of Valentine's Day, but any holiday that embraces love, chocolate, and flowers can't be that bad.

Time Out New York will help you plan your special night.

While walking down the Valentines isle at CVS I couldn't help but get lost in the memory of Valentines past.

I almost didn't do it. But, totally in love with this OPI green nail polish - Don't Mess With OPI.

How to Throw a Proper Pity Party

I love this.

______________________________________________________

Provisions:

1. Alcohol. Whatever floats your boat.
2. Lounging gear. Opt for cozy knits and a warm water bottle to hug.
3. Food. Sometimes only ice cream will do the trick.
4. Music, Movies & Journaling. I’ve watched Casablanca since high school and it still does the trick. I also posted my weepiest tunes on 8tracks and Spotify. Totally subjective and personal, but yeah, Radiohead makes me bawl.

You only get a day of pity, why not make the most of it;)

Successful Saturday

How is it possible the weather is so gorgeous? And how is it possible January is almost over?

This Versailles Domed Burlap chair from Restoration Hardware is cozy and perfect.

It arrived! I ordered this decal for my bathtub. Loves.

Every time I wander, I end up on Canal Street.

Cheers to another start of the week!

John Steinbeck on Falling in Love

This is perfect- the Nobel Prize winner and author of The Grapes of Wrath on the importance of waiting for love. Read full article here.

I love how he writes "And don't worry about losing. If it is right, it happens -- The main thing is not to hurry. Nothing good gets away."

I wish everyone a lovely weekend.

Passive Aggressive Notes

I love reading through Passive Aggressive Notes. I'm a pretty direct gal and passive aggression makes me shake my head. (Except when children do it, then its super cute.)

"You should spend more time with me but I love you anyway. Happy Birthday Dad."

"Mom, Dad I love you but you can't cut my hair. If you do I will never forgive you. I love my hair and guess you don't love me enough to do what I want for a change. My heart. Buckets of my tears."

"Dear Mrs. McMahon, Your a good teacher but not my most favorite."

Have a great day!

A Place to Lay My Heart

Love this modern love essay in the NY Times.

"...but since my decision to move to New York, through the four years during which I bought an apartment, was promoted at work and settled into routines, I had slowly become ready. And with this man, I saw, I wouldn’t be tied down so much as tied together."

That's All She Wrote

Overhaul your linen cupboard – store bedlinen sets inside one of their own pillowcases and there will be no more hunting through piles for a match.

Turn your muffin pan upside down, bake cookie-dough over the top and voila – you have cookie bowls for fruit or ice-cream

Forever losing your bathroom essentials? Use magnetic strips to store bobby pins (and tweezers and clippers) behind a vanity door
